Hey BilLo. Question can the bots be upgraded? Not in shooting abilities but they don't respond to any tasks you give them. Bad Bots not listening to me.

I've seen this before.  The Bots are as amped up as the code will allow.  Aggression and defense are maxed.  Their intelligence level is from 0.85 - 0.99.  Here is how I handle them.  They have to be outside to accept and complete assigned orders.  If they are lounging about inside the base, kill them, reissue the order and they should obey.  You must be firm with these guys!  I mean, they're Bots, I don't want them doing my taxes or passing judgement on me, but I do have the intelligence adjusted as high as possible.  Also, and this is a BIGGIE, the map code will have a massive effect on the bots.  Talk to Iotla, she can explain this better than I can, all I know is that in the maps there are preset bot tasks and junk that will either allow bots to do your bidding, or not.

Currently I am still working on correcting all the errors with the Mitzi/Nuke issue.  At the same time I am hoping to bring a pair of PBW satellites in for each side.  Until the mitzi?Nuke errors are all corrected, the server will be running the mitzi that has supermega instead.

Don't know if I can explain any better than BilL0 did and wish we could "boss" the bots like we did in UT too!  But like BilL0 said what the bots do or don't do is all programmed when the maps are created.   Was just beginning to try to learn about the bots and programming them when we decided to go to UT and have not gotten back into re learning and don't know if we can program them to do like the bots in UT did .. just something that will be trial and error.  And I had stacks of paperwork on mapping that Veg had sent me plus what I had gotten off internet and unfortunately did not keep when we went to UT.  Veg did send me back a very good Tribes2MappingGuide that I had sent him that has a lot of info in it and it states that  "With the death of Dynamix we all were left out in the cold."   So a lot of "how to's" of the map editor was lost in minds of those that knew how!!!   But will get back into trying how to program the bots.

Iotla I know this really good mapper in t2. He's the one that makes the maps for the TAC MOD guys. He probably better or has more experience than veg because he makes custom buildings and terrains for his maps, and veg worked  with stuff that were already on the t2 install, but I could be wrong. But either way I'm sure he could help you with any questions you may have. I'll look for email when i get home tonight, to ask him if its ok with him which I'm sure it will.

Thanks Noob.  Any help as far as bots are concerned will be appreciated.

When your friend custom builds buildings and terrains that map becomes a client side map and everybody has to download it in order to play on it.  The server sides maps does not change terrains or buildings and does not require you to download the map - just uses what T2 map editor has and that is why Veg just used the stuff in map editor.  Veg made some really cool maps but he never got into putting bots on his maps.

Mruballos sent me some code that i was able to adapt into the DeadGirl!  We now have clan tags and a T Rex roar announcement when we join.  if you dont hear that, ur probably missing out on a LOT of the new mod sounds.  I suggest that you download and install the followinf file

Well Wiley I don't know if I'm a better person but it was fun trying to hold you guys off last night. The lack of turrets threw in a different twist. MiNiClockBlocker voted to change to RABBIT. After he died several times in disgust and left I voted it back to CTF that is when the turrets could not be deployed. Weird but still had a good time last night.

Now guys, you know how it is to battle against BadJeff ...  and without turrets  ...  so sad!!!!  Sooooo   now  we  get the rest of the story....wonder Huh?  Did BadJeff have something to do with no turrets?HuhHuh??         LOL !!!

Had fun BadJeff ..  hope next battle we will have our turrets back ..  I am soooo    d e a d     without turrets    and evern with them but don't die as much or so soon with them.

And the teams were pretty even ....   3 against Badjeff!!!    R O F L !!!!!

Since this littel fiasco, i have disabled the other game types for regular players (peons as they are called in the admin section).  This should keep the turrets and deployable disapearances from happening.  Oh and I added BADJEFF to the list of server SA's.  Congradulations BADJEFF!!  You were not my first choice...lol...

Other updates include......Fifty Cal Rifle is now available on certain armors!  If you feel that the Fifty Cal should be available in YOUR favorite armor, you must begin the begging procedure.  Please include logical reasoning for adding the wep to YOUR favorite armor as well as plenty of praises to yours truely, and I shall consider it with my usual open mind.  

Also, I have begun testing the implementation of PBW satellites.  Dont know which armors will get this yet, most likely it will be Assault and Engineer.

And finally, for those sneaky types, I have begun coding some really cool (Invisible) spy satellites that can be placed either  defensively or offensively.  Basically a remote camera (invisible) which deploys above the player say around 80-100 feet in the air.

Lovely just Lovely. Adding it to my resume as we speak. Fifty Cal and Jug whats not to like? I need something to keep you and that nasty triple blue beam away from me. In my opinion the Fifty has a better CRACK! Headshot that the other weapons. Why does my engineer run out of power do fast? Thanks BilLo I will use it with a grain of salt.

Ok, even though you did not meet the requirements stated above, I have graciously added the fifty cal to the juggy suit. (you were supposed to PRAISE me and my efforts as well as present a logical reason)  One new thing, remember that ugly satellite from the old rumble server, kinda looked all crooked and stuff, like it was made by Picasso or something?  Well, I was able to make the necessary visual corrections and install to the server.  The only hitch is this, it has to be deployed by assault armor, not engineer.  Its a technical issue that cannot be resolved by some clever coding.  Now that I have it looking less ridiculous, I will begin adding the missile turret to  the center section.  That may take a while, but I will not give up with out a fight.  I need some feed back on the new satellite.  It currently deployes 150m above the point of deployement.  Is this good, bad, or what.  Let me know what you think.

The others seem to remember what the setting was you last left it on.The 50 is great but with the funky circle crosshair looks more like I'm repairing things. Can we change it? Also when these guys vote to unbalance teams even if I vote no it changes anyway. What is the deal with the turrets not seeing the guy fly right past it? Then sometimes it does? I like the Sats A lot the 150 ft works for me possibly a bit higher if you choose. I know, but again with the bots flying into outer space all day long. BAD BOTS. Awesome Work All and All. The Evil Genius has been hard at work and I thank you your Highness as always.

I cant seem to reproduce that error Jeff?  I tried changing from juggy to mars with the mitzi on all settings, and when i switched to the weapon, it was on the setting i had left it on?  I even tried changing to falcon(without mitzi mounted) then back and the settings stayed?

Changes made, it now has the same crosshairs as the railgun, pcphaser, and countless others, I'm sure.  I liked the warpgun reticles, it helped me know where i was in my loadout without having to look at the bottom print message, but as your HUMBLE servant I have made the desired corrections.

Also when these guys vote to unbalance teams even if I vote no it changes anyway.

I will look into this, I never had to mess with the voting options before, and really dont know what I'm looking for, so this may take a few days?  But since I made you SA, just change it back or cancell the vote in progress.  Use the FORCE young Jedi!

Here is another that I havent really experienced, perhaps they are wearing a jammer pack, and then if you happen to look at them, then the turret see's them because of you?  I will continue to monitor this and make tests.  Is it a particular type of turret, or just in general?

This really has to do with each map.  Some maps have detailed instructions for the bots to follow, some dont.  the bots are as intelligent as allowed.  I could replace them with the super intelligent bots made by a guy called Laffalot, but they are soo fast as to be rediculous.  If we placed the war2003 weapons into their hands, they would eat us ALL for lunch on a regular basis.  I will ask Iotla to edit all the maps in the rotation to see which have bot paths and which dont, and we can go from there.  Perhaps she can make the corrections needed.
